Hello!! My name is Bill Carr, I am a professional landscape designer and owner of Woodstream Landscape, a Design/Build company. I am NYSNLA certified and I have a degree in landscape design. I have spent 15 years designing and implementing residential landscapes. Over this time I have attended workshops, seminars, and visited gardens all over the East coast. I am truly dedicated and engaged in the work I do. This commitment to design excellence has made me one of the top landscape designers in the area.
After I graduated, I worked as a designer for a couple of landscape companies.We were pushed by management to put out designs as quickly as possible, usually in less than an hour. The focus was on the dollar volume of the immediate job not the long-term results. With so little time, designs lacked creativity and became repetitive. The homeowners however, were still happy because it was an improvement over the bare ground they had before. Unfortunately, within five years they had a drab high maintenance planting that did nothing to enhance their home. Looking back it seems ridiculous to have to spend so little time on the one thing that will make or break the entire project.
My company's biggest asset to you is the planning and design of your landscape and outdoor living space. I might spend anywhere from 4 to 12 hours on your landscape plan. My designs reflect the architecture of your home and the "feel" of the site. This careful planning will allow your landscape to harmonize with existing site features and as it fills in it will continue to improve.
I only use high quality materials in planting and construction of your landscape. With the quality of the design work I do, it just does not make sense to use cheaper materials.I have experienced the effect that lower quality materials can have on a project. Even when the project design is great, the result of using lower quality materials is disappointing.
The pricing of my projects is considered to be in the middle range. It would be pointless to come up with great design concepts if nobody could afford to do them. Therefore, I purchase materials wisely and I keep my overhead low. I think you will be pleasantly surprised at the price I charge for the type of work I do.
